Adelaide Pote (she/her)

Hi, I’m Adelaide! I’m a queer, neurodivergent woman and a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist based in Phoenix, AZ. My heart and specialty lie in working with couples (monogamous and polyamorous), and in working with transgender or questioning individuals, offering support and affirmation as you explore and embrace your gender identity.

When it comes to couples, my focus is on helping you and your partner(s) build the kind of safe, trusting connection where both of you can thrive. If you’re feeling stuck in the same old arguments, disconnected from your partner, or unsure how to rebuild intimacy and trust, I’m here to help. The core of my work with couples is all about creating emotional safety and breaking those negative patterns that keep you feeling distant. We’ll work together to help you both feel heard, valued, and emotionally connected—no matter what you’re going through.

I help couples recognize and transform the emotional blocks that prevent you from feeling close and supported. The goal is to rebuild a bond where you both feel safe enough to be vulnerable and truly show up for each other. I’ve seen first-hand how couples can change when they start understanding each other’s emotions and needs on a deeper level. Whether you're navigating life transitions, intimacy struggles, or communication breakdowns, I’ll guide you in creating a healthier, more fulfilling relationship.

I also support transgender individuals by offering an affirming and compassionate space to explore your gender identity, deal with societal pressures, and embrace who you truly are. I believe we all have stories about ourselves and our abilities that form our complex individual identities. Whether those stories are told by ourselves or by others, this perception of who we are greatly impacts our daily lives. When we disentangle what is troubling us - these unhelpful and negative stories - from our personal identity, we may grow and meet goals we never thought possible.

Along with EFT, I incorporate techniques from Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you and your partner—or you as an individual—align with your core values, accept tough emotions, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and compassion.

When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me enjoying nature, rocking out at metal concerts, practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu, diving into a game of Dungeons and Dragons, or hanging out with my spouse and my cat, Small Cat. I’m excited to work with you and your partner to create the emotional connection and secure bond you deserve—or to help you embrace your authentic self as you live your truth.
