Adelaide Pote (she/her)

Hello, I am Adelaide! I’m a neurodivergent transgender woman and a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist here in Phoenix, AZ. I am well versed in Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have experience working with genderdiverse and neurodiverse people of all ages, and I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families surrounding issues pertaining to gender identity, sexuality, marital distress, autism, ADHD, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.

I believe we all have stories about ourselves and our abilities that form our complex individual identities. Whether those stories are told by ourselves or by others, this perception of who we are greatly impacts our daily lives. When we disentangle what is troubling us - these unhelpful and negative stories - from our personal identity, we may grow and meet goals we never thought possible. It is my hope that we can create an affirming space for you to promote positive, transformative change, to feel empowered to be the author of your own story, and to take your life back from unhelpful narratives through self-compassion and personal agency.

When not in sessions, I love spending time in nature, going to metal concerts, practicing Brazilian jiu jitsu, playing Dungeons and Dragons, spending time with friends, and hanging out with my cat, Small Cat.
