Join Our Internship Training Program

Join the vibrant and inclusive community of Affirming You as a social work intern in our upcoming cohort for the Fall 2023 - Spring 2024 and Summer 2024 school semesters!

Are you passionate about making a difference? Our internship training program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical direct practice while specializing in LGBTQ+ and Neurodiversity Affirming care. Throughout your internship, you'll receive training from experts in the field from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, enabling you to grow both personally and professionally.

As an intern at Affirming You, you'll immerse yourself in the world of social work ethics, honing your skills in clinical documentation, assessments and treatment planning, insurance billing, community building, and case management. You'll have the chance to work with a small caseload of individual clients, co-facilitate group therapy sessions alongside our experienced clinical staff, participate in community outreach events, and engage in dynamic clinical staff meetings with a diverse team of professionals.

We embrace a supportive work environment that values different learning styles and cherishes the unique perspectives each team member brings. We firmly believe that our interns contribute valuable insights to our team discussions, alongside our licensed clinicians. Your voice will be heard as we explore innovative solutions to enhance community care, including addressing generational differences.

To ensure your dedication is recognized, each intern accepted into our training program will receive a stipend per individual session and group session completed. Spanish-speaking interns receive an additional stipend per service.

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to grow both personally and professionally while making a meaningful impact. Join us at Affirming You and be part of our mission to improve the lives of individuals within our community.
