Sarah Servilican, MSW Student

(she/her)

Hello, my name is Sarah, I identify as a cisgender Native American woman. As a POC I understand how important it is to have a therapist who is also a minority. I take pride in incorporating my culture as well as others, into the therapeutic space. I graduated from Arizona State University with my Bachelors in Social Work. During my undergraduate time, I interned at Ombudsman Charter School in Glendale, AZ, where I worked directly with at-risk high school students and community groups. This included working with students to improve their social-emotional well-being, addressing any barriers to academic performance and school attendance, and assessing students for support systems, peer issues and suicidal/homicidal ideation.

During this time, my passion for working with teenagers grew as they often are a population who don’t get a voice but deserve to be heard. I have worked extensively with the Neurodivergent and Autism community for five years as a Direct Support Provider, Respite Provider, and lead instructor teaching transition to employment classes. I use this experience to make informed decisions regarding mental health care for individuals who are on the spectrum or have a disability. Working for a crisis hotline for Terros Health truly gave me an understanding of the desperate need for accessible mental health care for all. As a Crisis Specialist, I support adults, children, and families experiencing mental health emergencies. This includes self-harm, traumatic experiences, recent loss, potential harm to others, suicidal thoughts, increased depression and anxiety, and homelessness.

My work with one•n•ten, a local LGBTQIA+ organization, has allowed me to work directly within the community, specifically youth ages 12-24. I run a weekly program facilitating a safe space while emphasizing education, safety, LGBTQ+ community building, healthy choices, and community engagement. I am always eager to empower, uplift, and encourage those within the LGBTQIA+. My goal is to help facilitate your healing journey in whatever shape that looks like for you. I hope to work in collaboration with you as a therapeutic alliance! Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all, and you are the expert on you. I hope to make your experience as productive and beneficial as possible in an environment that is warm. Please feel free to contact me for a consultation to see if we would be a good fit!
