Hello! My name is Brooke, and I am a Master of Social Work Student completing my second internship here at Affirming You. I chose the social work profession because I have a passion for fairness and social justice. I believe that everyone is inherently worthy, unique, and magical in their own way.

My professional experience includes working in a crisis behavioral health hospital providing case management and working with at risk youth populations, including youth in foster care, and youth with adverse childhood experiences and trauma backgrounds. I have extensive experience facilitating group therapy for adolescents, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. I utilize both process and focus groups, and some therapeutic methods I frequently use include DBT, CBT, and REBT.

My approach is very client-centered. I fundamentally believe that you are the expert of your own life and story, and I am here to support you and root for you. I also like to examine all the different factors within your life to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that will provide you with the tools and coping skills you need on your self-actualization journey.

Kindness is cool and is one of my core values. I aim to create a warm and accepting environment both in my professional and personal life. I am a mom, and my kids take up most of my free time, but I also love to thrift, listen to music, and hang out with my cats.
